The 6th Panhellenic Congress on the Development of Greek Agriculture, themed “Innovation for sustainable agri-food systems: the present and future of the CAP” took place with great success on Friday 25th of October 2019, at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). A high number of participants, including but not limited to agricoops and individual farmers, agri-food businesses, researchers, as well as representatives of the political and financial sector, participated in the Congress.
The Congress, through the speeches of both Greek and foreign invited speakers, focused on the sustainability of the agrifood sector, a top priority at European level, as it is at the center of the formulation of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which is currently under review. In the context of the Congress, NEUROPUBLIC‘s President and Head of gaiasense Fotis Chatzipapadopoulos delivered a thorough presentation of the gaiasense smart farming system and the way in which smart farming substantially supports the agricultural sector of Greece and other selected EU countries, in an innovative, sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Through his presentation Mr. Chatzipapadopoulos highlighted the central role of the human factor in the operation of gaiasense and presented the application of the system in various cases, emphasizing on the reduction of inputs achieved and the benefits for both the producer (financial) and the environment.
During his speech, NEUROPUBLIC’s CEO Mr. Giannis Koufoudakis also made a reference to the smart farming services of gaiasense, as part of the digital services for the agricultural sector developed by the company.
During the Congress, the participants showed special interest for gaiasense, and they had the opportunity to be informed by gaiasense team members in the specially designed space of the event, where a gaiasense telemetric station was exhibited along with printed informational material.
