The 18th Panhellenic Entomological Congress was successfully held between 15-18 of October 2019 at Komotini, Greece, with the participation of more than 300 participants and the presentation of more than 170 scientific works in the form of presentations and posters by Greek and Foreign speakers.
The Congress was organized by the Hellenic Entomological Society, under the aegis of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece, the Greek Agricultural Organization “Demeter” and the Municipality of Komotini.
NEUROPUBLIC was one of the event’s sponsors and participated with a poster on the way that the smart crop protection service of gaiasense operates in the case of the green worm (Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner)) in cotton cultivation.
The poster provided information on a specialized multivariate forecasting model for predicting the risk of infestation by the green worm, developed for this purpose, as well as on the types and means of collecting the data required for its operation.
About the Congress
The 18th Panhellenic Entomological Congress aimed to bring together researchers, advisors, practitioners and students working in all aspects of Entomology and Acarology. The focus of the Congress was the dissemination of the most recent scientific knowledge which through ideas sharing and fruitful discussions fostered effective implementation and new developments.
The Congress focused on topics such as the integrated and biological management of insects, updates on the chemical management, newly introduced pests, issues related to public health and zoonoses transmitted through insects.
