Between 29 and 30 of May 2019, a Symposium titled “Mathematics in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution” was held at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, in the context of the scientific activities of the Interdisciplinary Program of Postgraduate Studies “Mathematical Modeling in Contemporary Technologies and Finance” and the “Financial Engineering and Mathematical Optimization” Laboratory.
The aim of the Symposium was to bring together scientists active in the academic field, business and the market in Greece and abroad, in the three directions: State of the art technologies, Data Science Mathematics and Economics / Finance. Through the symposium, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with modern applications of mathematics in various fields of Science, Technology, and Economics, as well as international trends from related scientific/ academic and professional view.
In the context of the 7th Thematic Session “Data Science & Mathematics”, NEUROPUBLIC’s Earth Observation & Data Science Chief Engineer Dr. Dimitris Sykas focused on the way that remote sensing and data are being exploited by gaiasense, through his title presentation titled “gaiasense – Smart Farming Services and integration of the terrestrial measurements network with satellite data“.
