AgroSemana (Agricultural Week), the Portuguese Northern Agricultural Fair, is one of the most important events of the agricultural sector in Portugal. It is an annual technical and commercial fair, which started back in 2013 and is aimed almost exclusively at agricultural cooperatives.
This year the fair took place between August 29 and September 1 and attracted more than 90.000 visitors and 200 exhibitors, covering a total area of 170.000 m2. Among the speakers at the launch of the fair was European Commissioner Phil Hogan and Portuguese Minister of Agriculture, Capoulas Santos.
Through the participation of CONFAGRI, the Portuguese Confederation of agricultural cooperatives, the visitors of the fair had the opportunity to be informed about the gaiasense smart farming system.
More specifically, at the stand of CONFAGRI, one of the LIFE GAIA Sense project consortium members – a project based on the gaiasense smart farming system – there were leaflets describing the project and the operation of gaiasense.
On top of that, CONFAGRI staff was available to provide more information on the application of the gaiasense smart farming system at selected olive groves of the CONFAGRI in Portugal, which takes place in the context of the LIFE GAIA Sense project.
