Mr. Umberto Di Pasquo, Senior Policy Advisor of COPA COGECA was a key guest of the broadcast and referred to the way in which new technologies contribute to a more sustainable and competitive agricultural sector. More specifically, he talked about innovation in the agricultural sector, and the way in which digital tools can contribute to its transformation.

In this context, Mr. Di Pasquo highlighted the role of farmers and agricultural cooperatives in shaping and adopting new farm management systems that help them produce “more with less”, meeting the nutritional needs of the constantly increasing population, while at the same time contributing to the reduction of the environmental impact of agriculture by reducing the environmental footprint of production.
He also referred to the added value of agricultural products produced through digital farming, which improves the competitiveness of producers and their placement in the markets.
During his intervention (at 00.06.11 of the broadcast), Mr. Di Pasquo addressed the gaiasense smart farming system as an excellent example of digitization of agriculture at european level.
