The Agricultural Cooperative of Kalochori, investing in cooperation and the creation of cooperative formations through the funded program of Measure 9, has managed to integrate the members of the Producer Group in practices related to smart farming, reducing production costs, successfully meeting the needs created by the new era.

Taking advantage of the knowledge and experience in apricot cultivation, the Producer Group is continuously investing in the digitalization of the production process through the collaboration with NEUROPUBLIC. As, the fertile conditions have been created by the adoption of the innovative tools offered by the gaiasense smart farming system and utilizing the knowledge gained in recent years, the group contributes decisively to the reduction of production costs.

By combining the capabilities of the gaiasense smart farming system, the group has taken a big step towards the digitization of apricot production, but also towards the adoption of an environmentally friendly approach through the rational management of inputs in areas such as irrigation and nutrition through expert advice utilizing scientific models and data.

Specifically, in the case of plant protection, daily data related to the monitoring of climatic parameters are evaluated in order to rationally manage the interventions related to the main crop diseases such as corn root rot and grey rot.
