PEACH – Sustainable Peach Project

The Sustainable Peach is a project under Action 2 of Measure 16 (Sub-measures 16.1 and 16.2). The project aims to exploit cutting-edge technologies for the development and implementation of smart farming (AG) solutions, in order to reduce production costs per hectare of cultivation, while improving the quality of peaches. EG solutions do not mean reducing production, but minimizing pesticide residues, as well as the environmental footprint of the crop, achieving compliance with international market requirements and contributing to addressing climate change. It started in the 2023 growing season and will be completed after the end of the next season (2-year term).

NEUROPUBLIC is the project coordinator as well as responsible for the installation of the specific equipment, the analysis of all primary data and the adaptation of the smart farming models in the areas of irrigation and the timely treatment of three of the most dangerous fungal diseases affecting peaches (exoplasmosis, grey rot and corn root rot).

This project is being implemented in the areas of Velventos, Kozani and Episkopi, Imathia.

Both the Agricultural Cooperatives of the above mentioned areas, A.S.O VELVENTOS “DIMITRA” and A.S. EPISKOPIS “ALEXANDROS”, contribute through the creation and support of the necessary pilot fields to the development and implementation of the innovative services, as well as to the dissemination of the results by organizing events (training/workshop dissemination of results).
